Ubuntu 9.10 HP Deskjet F2488 Scanner driver installation

My all in one printer and scaner is not working in Ubuntu 9.10
How can I get the device driver for HP Deskjet F2488 and How can I install it in Ubuntu 9.10
I use Xsane Image scaning programme to scan documents
Awaiting a earler replay

I assume first that your printer is printing okay. Put an item you want to copy face down in the scanner and make sure that the printer is connected and is turned on. Next go to Applications | Graphics | Simple Scan and it should allow you to scan the item you put on the glass. Xsane isn't used the same way any more. Simple Scan it the better way to see if your scanner works.

Download and install the latest HPLIP from th HPLIP site.

I installed HPLIP 3.9.12 and it worked. I am using xsane image scaner and it also workes very well.
