Problems putting laptop to sleep, shutting down, hibernating

Asked by Jelly79mUnro

I have a Sony Vaio running 12.04. I continue to have problems with sleeping, shutting down and hibernating.

Currently I can't hibernate at all and I'm not sure why, the option isn't there anymore since I upgraded to 12.04.

If I put the laptop to sleep it seems to do so, but when you reactivate, or turn the laptop back on, nothing that was open before is still open. It's like it's being powered up from being turned off.

When I shut down the computer pauses on the purple Ubuntu screen as if it's processing but it stops doing anything at all.

Vaio FW560F.

I'm not sure, where would I go to check?

sudo pm-hibernate puts the laptop into hibernate successfully but still not available as an option when shutting down.

sudo pm-suspend and the laptop looks as if it's going into suspend mode. But when powered back up it's a reboot.

If you are feeling this type of issues you can update its window https://laptopsgraph.com/ because when you do this work it will clear all the errors and glitches from the laptop

Can you help with this problem?
