Why is there no HIBERNATE mode in Ubuntu 12.04?

Asked by wordsmyth2

Yes, WHY is there no HIBERNATE FUNCTION in Ubuntu 12.04? And PLEASE don't tell me I have to type in a lot of stuff on TERMINAL TO SOLVE THIS: Hibernate should be a given, to save power in these Green times. I can't understand this omission - and I suspect this with be off-putting to newbies. Why create a problem where previously there was none? PLEASE ADVISE A FIX FOR THIS.
Thank you.

Hi,

You are right. Hibernate funcion have been disabled in this version, but you can get it back in a very simple way. I have found you this great article, where you have everything explained about hibernate mode in Ubuntu 12.04 and you can do this once and you will always have function to put your computer in hibernate mode.

Here is link to article which explains everything about hiebernate mode: http://www.howtogeek.com/113923/how-to-re-enable-hibernate-in-ubuntu-12.04/

If that helps you on some way, please mark question as solved.
Regards,
Miha
