Ubuntu

kde hibernate just locks the screen

Asked by TheKey84 on 2012-05-09

Hello,

I installed kubuntu 12.04 64bit a few days ago, but the menu button 'hibernate' doesn't do anything but lock the screen. But when I use the command "sudo pm-hibernate" it works just fine.

KDE 4.8.2 is installed.

Thank you in advance.

Ubuntu/KUbuntu 12.04 have disabled the hibernation button by default as, in some cases, it was not reliable.

Follow the recipe in the "Enable hibernate" section on this page: <https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/ubuntu-help/power-hibernate.html> to enable it again.

Thank you, it works. But it looked like an error. Irritating.
