need gui enabled

Asked by Harold Bell7987

hercules on windows comes installed with the ability to be manipulated by a gui. On most linux distributions this is not the case. There are several people working on open source gui's for hercules. The configure option is --enable-external-gui but I have not been able to get it to work with ubuntu (worked fine for me in fedora). I use java and dont know anything about the configure-make process in order to fix it. As far as I know having it set will not otherwise affect the program and will insure that third party gui's can be used with the distro's package without any hassles by the user. Thanks for your consideration
