Helix player 2.0 not available?

Asked by Eshwar Andhavarapu

Hi,

I noticed at: https://player.helixcommunity.org/ that Helix Player 11 (2.0) is available. However, only a 32-bit version is available. since I've seen that you are hosting helix-player, can you maybe put up version 2? could i maybe help you otherwise? I am new to this but wouldn't mind learning. for the community!

Regards

Eshwar

There's Realplayer is available on the medibuntu repo. Both play .rm files

Here is how:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu

There is helix player 1.0.9 on the universe repo. I am not sure about v2.0. You could maybe email the team to see if they have views top make 64bit available

Yup i noticed 1.0.9 on the universe repo. Then figured that helix is pure open source so doesn't play mp3. on the realplayer site the deb file is only for 32-bit and the bin file works for 64-bit. anybody got a clue if I can put it up on the PPA? I am so new to this so have no clue.

If you just need MP3 playback you can run:

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

and you will have an MP3 decoder.
