Plan for adding index_var to AutoScalingGroup

Is there a plan to add a index_var to OS::Heat::AutoScalingGroup similar to OS::Heat::ResourceGroup?
Using %index% is recommended for adding a sequence number to a common hostname stem in a ResourceGroup, e.g. specify Server resource name as server%index% would get us the host names server0, server1, server2, etc.

We would need the same for AutoScalingGroup.

I would also appreciate the right place to ask the question if this is not the place.
