it is a visioneer one touch 5300 usb. from what i have researched ubuntu does not support it unless there is a specific kind of chip. i am just curious if someone has written drivers of their own for it to work with ubuntu 7.04. i will ugrade to the new one if it offers support for the scanner if need be. if you need the model number i'll get it to you shortly
thanks

There are 29 Visioneer scanners listed on the SANE website. Of these, only the 7300 works with Linux.
