Do you know what manufacturer and model of sound card you have?

If not, do this:-

Applications --> Accessories --> Terminal

Then in the terminal box type

lspci

And you should see a line somewhere there that mentions "audio" or "sound" or similar. If you paste that in here we may be able to help. If you can't see the line for the sound card, just paste all the output of "lspci" in here.

Hi Alan, thanks for helping me here. I really appreciate it. Here's what
I've found.

0000:00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801AA AC'97
Audio (rev 02)

Hope this helps. Basically, I installed Ubuntu way too late at night and I
have NO idea what my admin login & pass are. I stumbled across the adduser
cmd and gave it a shot. Now I can at least try out ubuntu. How do I find my
E: drive?

Buster

There is no admin login or pass,if you want to do something as admin(called root or superuser in unix) then jus type "sudo command".
Maybe your sound is only muted,try sudo alsamixer.

Sudo will you ask you for a password ,just the type in your user pw.

Can you help with this problem?
