Cannot boot to Windows XP with dual boot

Asked by Liam

I have my hard drive partitioned (i.e. Windows and Linux).

I have been able to boot into either windows or linux (Ubuntu) via GRUB for years without any problem, but the the other day, all of a sudden, I no longer had the option to boot into windows.

I haven't deleted anything. I can still navigate to windows when in linux and see all my folders, files and programmes, but I need to be able to boot into windows.

Anybody any idea what has happened and how I can solve this problem.

Thanks,

Liam.

Please open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

Copy and paste the file contents here

Then type

sudo fdisk -l

Copy and paste the result here

Thank you
