trying to add twitter A/c to Gwibber says I need ssl

Added Facebook A/c to Gwibber no probs but when I try to add my Twitter A/c & press authorise itv says I need ssl Dont understand my email has ssl why cant I just authorise thru twitter

lsb_release -a; uname -a; apt-cache policy gwibber
