Scrolling errors

Asked by Clemens Vermeulen

Gwibber has been a proverbial pain for me over several versions of Ubuntu:

Currently, on a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10, scrolling the page of posts up or down causes the page to jump hither and tither duplicating posts so that sometimes all I see is lots of copies of the same post. Just like all the previous releases.

Gwibber still displays FB game notifications I have explicitly BLOCKED on the facebook web page.

All in all the gwibber display is, and has been from the start, totally useless to me.

Starting Gwibber from the command line I see the following error:

(gwibber:16412): Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to set text from markup due to error parsing markup: Error on line 1: Entity did not end with a semicolon; most likely you used an ampersand character without intending to start an entity - escape ampersand as &

To solve one problem a suggestion is made (on this site) elswhere to use the 'middle button' on a mouse. Which is the 'middle button' on my touchpad?

Your suggestions would be much appreciated

Thank you Gwibber team, it appears the latest update on 28/Dec/2011 has solved just about all my problems. I look forward to getting the most out of Gwibber,
