Path of Print Preview incorrect

Asked by David Vincent-Jones

I have been trying to Print an image using "print preview"

Initially I was using DigiKam but got the error that the "preview program gv could not be found, Check that the program is correctly installed and located in a directory included in your PATH environment variable"

Assuming that the program "gv" referred to GwenView I then installed that program and tried to print directly with GwenView .... I then got the same message.

If I need to change an environment variable could you please direct me to the appropriate location and indicate what changes I should make. I am very new at this Linux business and would appreciate detailed help.

Thanks;
David

I don't think that gv refers to GwenView, I think it refers to Gnu GV, a derivative of GhostView.

You can install gv using the following command. The system will ask for your password, enter your password and press enter even though you won't see anything when you type the password in, it is ok.

sudo apt-get install gv

Hope this helps
