~/.nautilus/metafiles/ gone in Karmic

Asked by Arturo Torres Sánchez

Binary package hint: nautilus

Nautilus used to have this metafiles folder, where information about custom folder icons was stored. But in Karmic, this appears to have gone. Is this a bug, or is there a new location for the metafiles?

This is handled in gvfs now, and the information is stored in ~/.local/shared/gvfs-metadata

Converting to a question, as the bug tracker is not the appropriate venue for support requestes

I have the folder in a clean install started at beta 4

andy@fileserver:~$ file ~/.nautilus/metafiles
/home/andy/.nautilus/metafiles: directory
andy@fileserver:~$ cd ~/.nautilus/metafiles
andy@fileserver:~/.nautilus/metafiles$ ls
migrated-to-gvfs
andy@fileserver:~/.nautilus/metafiles$ cat ./migrated-to-gvfs
andy@fileserver:~/.nautilus/metafiles$

File is empty

How can I figure out which entry in folder ~/.local/share/gvfs-metadata/ contains information about the emblems assigned to a file or folder?

Can you help with this problem?
