gvfs keeps requesting previously accessed files

Yesterday i watched a couple of videos in Totem via HTTPS streaming. I am the server admin too.
Today after booting up the PC from which i watched those videos these two http requests appeared in the server logs:
"HEAD /testvid1.mkv HTTP/1.1" 200 0 "-" "gvfs/1.20.3"
"HEAD /testvid2.mkv HTTP/1.1" 200 0 "-" "gvfs/1.20.3"
both coming from my PC.

How can i disable this behavior?

If you run:

lsof | grep mkv

Are they still open?

No. they're not. Opening Totem changes nothing.
