Black screen on Guvcview

I have Lubuntu 14.04.2 installed on an ASUS EeePC 1000h. The installed default program for the internal camera is Guvcview (1.7.1-1). All I can get in the way of output is a black screen. I had Lubuntu 14.10 and now 15.04 installed on another partition on the same computer and Guvcview works perfectly in those versions. I reinstalled Guvcview and there was no change in the output. I installed Cheese to make sure that there wasn't a problem with the hardware and using cheese I can take a picture and video without a problem. Is there a problem with Guvcview working in Linux kernel 3.16?

I suggest you report a bug. state that the newer release works ok
