gutenprint configuration broken

Asked by DougWebb

Everything was working fine till I altered the printer color balance, brightness etc. Now gutenprint leaves red and yellow lines vertically down the image. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't fix it so it's a configuration somewhere in my user files but where? Printing without gutenprint works just fine.

I'm using the gutenprint plugin in the gimp to print photos to my hp color laserjet. It was working fine until I changed the Brightness and Contrast ratio's in the plugin. Now I can't reset it. I think I ran into this once before and had to reinstall the system to fix it. I tried Complete Uninstall for all 5 gutenprint files and libraries but the problem persists so it must be in local configuration files. I'll keep looking.

I just deleted the ~/.gimp folder and that finally reset everything and fixed it. The problem of corrupted images from the plugin controls remains but I can modify the image before printing to overcome that. I hope this helps someone else.
