Use arrow keys to scroll through fonts?

Asked by Dan

In both gimp and in gucharmap I have to use the mouse to select the next font down in the list. It's a big problem for me since I have thousands of fonts to choose from. In most cases, I just need to find one letter match for what I'm looking for. It would be a lot easier if i could just highlight the current font and hit the down arrow to bring up the next font like you can in windows charmap. Does anyone know how I could achieve that functionality without having to revert back to windows?

This is Ubuntu support, not Mint. Your distro is supported here:

Regardless of OS, this is an issue with GUCHARMAP 2.32.0 and this is a forum thread dedicated to the GUCHARMAP program. When I clicked get online help within the program itself, it brought me here to this website. I'm pretty sure there was a reason for that.

Its one dedicated to Ubuntu, which you aren't using. None of the spinoff OSes are supported here including (but not limited to):
- Backtrack
- PinguyOS
- Mint
- LinuxMCE
- CrunchBang

Ubuntu is based on debian (similar to how Mint is based on Ubuntu), but if you post on a Debian forum they will send you here.

Can you help with this problem?
