GTKPod Fails to Detect iPod After Upgrade to Newer Ubuntu Kernel
Hi, I’m facing an issue with gtkpod where the application no longer detects my iPod after a recent system upgrade. The device mounts correctly at the filesystem level, and I can access the music directory manually, but gtkpod does not recognize the device or prompts for re-initialization every time.
This is happening on Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS with kernel 6.2, running on a system with 12GB RAM and an Intel x86_64 CPU. Gtkpod version is 2.1.5, and libgpod is installed from the official repositories. The same iPod worked previously on Ubuntu 20.04 with the same hardware.
Running gtkpod from the terminal shows no fatal errors, only warnings related to deprecated GTK functions. Udev rules appear unchanged, and permissions on the mounted device are correct. I’ve tested the same iPod on another machine running Linux Mint 21 with 8GB RAM, where gtkpod detects it normally.
Is this a known compatibility issue with newer kernels or udev changes, or is there a recommended fix or patch for gtkpod on recent Ubuntu releases?
