I bought a ipod touch and I am having trouble downloading itunes. What do I need to do or download?

I want to download the itunes player on to my computer so I can use my ipod touch but it won't let me download it because I don't have windows vista on my computer anymore. Is there a way that I can download it to my computer.

Apple do not release an itunes client for linux. You can use alternate software to connect to your device. Try using rhythmbox.
