how to reset timer on gtkgo from ZERO (causes game to self-end and exit)

Asked by GregR1

i was messing around with the play timer settings on gtkgo, and thought that if i set the timer to zero, it would mean no time limit. sadly, it means a time limit of 0 seconds per player, so as soon as the game starts, it finishes and exits (asks me if i want to save, which is moot). i've tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the game, but the timer is still at zero. is there some way i can recover the game - change something in some piece of code (i'm a newb, so i can edit a text file, nothing more), or do an uninstall and delete some directory somewhere before doing a reinstall?

It's quite likely that there will be a config file in ~/.gtkgo. This directory is hidden, so you'll have to enable "Show Hidden Files" (View menu in Nautilus).

Thanks! Found the file, and edited both values there (there were two, not sure what for unless it has the capacity for separate timers for each player).
