missing pictures

Asked by Darrell Hare

I have a disaster. I had about 14 pictures. I put them in a file and wanted to do a group rename of these pics to e-mail them. I didn't make a copy first. I highlighted them all then hit rename and it asked me if I wanted to overwrite them and I said yes. It overwrote and replaced them with one picture !!!!!
Can I reverse this action. I can't find any backups and wouldn't know where to look anyway. Can you help me ?
I'm running Kubuntu Hardy 8.04

Hi,

maybe they are still in /tmp, if not they will be lost and i guess that they are not recoverable

Can you help with this problem?
