About Exif Data

Asked by measekite

In the Exif data under Maker Notes there is a line for Subject Distance. It is not accurate. I made a 100 photos using macro mode and carefully measured the subject to lens distance. It was way off. As an example about 20 photos claim to have a Subject Distance in Exif data of about 23mm. That is about .8 of an inch in the US. However the average measured distance was about 6 inches. That translates to about 150mm.

It would also be nice if you could do two things in Exif. Under user preferences it would be nice to be able to check and uncheck which exif data you want to see and to be able to categorize and organize how you choose. It would also be nice to be able to assign your choice of exif data to comments.
