canon a40 issues with gthumb

When I try to use gthumb with my canon a40 I get the following error:

canon_usb_get_dirents: Couldn't fit payload into buffer, 'D:\DCIM\127CANON\127CANON\127CANON\127CANON\127CANON\127CANON\127CANON\127CANON\127CANON\CANONMS' (truncated) too long.

Please let me know if you have any ideas, and if you need more information about my system.

That is an odd message and I can't say that I have sen it before. Are you able to mount D:\DCIM? If you can get there can you "ls -l". It almost looks like 127CANON links to itself.

Can you help with this problem?
