havn't got the net

Asked by sr-camalot

What's a real pain in the arse is that i don't have i don't have the internet on my ubuntu computer.
there are many drawbacks from this, but none more than the fact that i can't get the gstreamer plugin to use mp3's
and i have almost run out of CD's to just copy them on them and and then copy them back to ubuntu.
and it is boring and i can't be bothered typing in the names for every song i put on (how many people know how long and abstract the mars volta songs are?)
if anyone has any help on how to install plugins onto a windows computer, then transfer them via USB, so i can use mp3 files, that would be awesome

thanks for any help

Go here and download the .deb package you need to (i.e. libgstreamer-plugins0.8-0):

http://packages.ubuntu.com/

Have a search with your current Ubuntu distribution

Then transfer it on ubuntu machine and double-click on it.

Make sure all the dependencies are satisfied.

If not, download them from the same website, till every dependencies are satisfied.

Mind that every dependencies a package needs, are listed on the dedicated page of the package.
