cant get passed passw to download apps!!

Hi there I have been trying listening to mp3 files but was unable to play them.Tried to download apps but password which i dont have is requested,how can i solve this issue...thanks to all.

The requested password is the one you've decided for when installing Ubuntu. That's the only password requested during installation, there is no other.

On this page scroll down to 'Codec Packages',
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/EasyCodecInstallation

among them are:
gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad
gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly

which should be sufficient to listen to mp3 files.
You can open Software-Center, search for gstreamer* and install it from there.

Usually the multimedia application tells you if a codec is missing and offers to install missing codecs.
