uninstall ubuntu / install kubuntu

Asked by jahmbahwahnn

Hi,
I had installed ubuntu 9.10 karmic kola 64 bit on my laptop. I also got the kernel updated. However, I had downloaded kubuntu 9.10 64 bit, subsequently after a month or so. I felt that the kde GUI is better than gnome. May i be blessed with solution as to how to install kubuntu after wiping ubuntu. Or is it that i can do an install on the drive in which ubuntu is installed which will automatically wipe ubuntu off the drive. will there be any boot problems because of the grub2 bootloader which is already installed.
I had gone through the synaptic app and I dont wish to run sessions in *buntu. I want a clean installation of kubuntu
Solutions/suggestions please.

Ubuntu and Kubuntu are like two ends of the same stick.

1) Get Kubuntu/KDE by installing the package: kubuntu-desktop

then

2) Get rid of Ubuntu/Gnome by running the first command at http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/purekde

Can you help with this problem?
