which is the grub file in ubuntu 10.04

Asked by Rajinder Sandhu

Recently installed Lucid Alpha 10.04 and i love it... very fast & efficient. Thus far there is no problem but I don't know which is the grub image file as they have changed the booting pkg from grub to grub-pc which is superior but then in case anything goes wrong how to reconfigure it or reinstall it. In the help file there is no mention of it..quite understandably as it is still under development and not released. Whereas it was easier for the old grub to find and reinstall the image or stage
Thanks,
Rajinder

Grub_2 is default since 9.10 (Karmic).
The files intended to edit are in:
/etc/default/grub
/etc/grub.d

grub2 is not working fine for me so reverted to grub-legacy now everything is fine, imagine I could see linux.mod file in /boot/grub folder but error is reported this file is missing. so it will not go beyond in grub-rescue and grub is much simpler in terms of management than grub2.
