really trying hard to understand the no floopy thing

i went into terminal typed sudo update-grub then it looked like it saved it but when i restarted i had to delete the line again what am i doing wrong i spent hours on this and getting frustrated more and more hhhheeeellllppppp. maybe im doing the terminal thing wrong
i hold down shift
then press e to edit
then control and x to boot
then when the ubuntu loads i click on terminal and then type sudo update-grub
then it does something
then i restart and have to do it all over again
what did i di wrong???

Boot to the live cd and mount the system partition for your installed system.

You will then need to run:

gksudo nautilus

and navigate to

/media/<some UUID>/boot/grub

and open:

grub.cfg

You can then remove the --no-floppy option from any entry you see, save the new file and reboot to the installed system (remove live CD)

You should now get a desktop. You can then run:

gksudo gedit /usr/lib/grub/grub-mkconfig_lib

and again, delete the --no-floppy save the new file and close gedit.

Now when you run: sudo update-grub

The option will not be added ;)

thankyou sooo much i still got a little confused but i found something that said press alt + f2 to get run screen and the everything was simple after that just had to remember to check run in terminal for the sudo update-grub thanks again now to figure out whats going on with my poker program pureplay.com
