where is karmic menu.lst

i tried to change the options in menu.lst but I was not able to found it under /boot/grub/...
somebody knows about that????

Sounds like you're using Grub 2, which doesn't have a menu.lst. I wouldn't use whatever guide you're using as it's for a previous version of Grub.

There is no menu.lst in Karmic (Grub2).
Like Grub Legacy grub2 resides in /boot/grub but there is no menu.lst file in Grub2. Its configuration file is /boot/grub/grub.cfg.
