Is grub2 ready to be used?

Asked by Christian Schürer-Waldheim

Is grub2 already stable and ready to replace the old grub? I've seen that there are already packages in Ubuntu.

Is there anything I have to bear in mind before update to grub2?

Thanks and kind regards,
Christian

I don't think grub2 is being used yet by default. You can install it but there seem to be mixed reviews. You can view the project page for more info http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/grub-2.en.html.

I just installed grub2 from svn (fzielcke on #grub told me that the ubuntu package is too old)

It works fine for me.

Can you help with this problem?
