Splash screen disabled in bios

Asked by Nikki

When booting Ubuntu 12.10 My splash screen is gone. Only black until graphics card logo flashes and then loads the desktop.
I'm pretty sure I accidentally disabled something in my BIOS, messing where I shouldn't have. I have a Compaq presariocq60. I think I am up to date with drivers but I cant find certain packages also, not sure if it's related. Thanks for any help to this newbie

Probably this problem occurred due to graphics card driver. But if you meant the grub menu, then try to hold down [Shift] key until grub menu is loaded.

The plymouth (splash) screen yes could be disabled due to graphics card driver installation.
