Asked by SIMONE

What if I reset user/admin password by root shell, get line that says passwd reset was successful, exit and normally reboot but then the new password is not recognised by sign on system? Hope this description is clear enough. Could someone help, please?

I log on by root shell, follow the procedure in the guide you mentioned and after changing the password twice get a line that says the password is reset. I reboot and try to use the new password to download updates but says the password is not correct.
