grub stalls

Asked by Scott Peters

Working on getting an older machine running. (HP Pavilion XT963 or aka CT963). When I try to install 12.04 it hits the grub load and stalls. It appears to go into a loop. I have tried the alternate load with the same results. I have also added ram to max it out at 512.

There is no command, you just type it next to:

quiet splash

Which are the default boot options....

Thought it worked but it didn't. Did an install with recovery mode just to see what would happen. It Loaded! Go figure.
