loaded Windows and now cannot start Ubuntu

Asked by Nathan D

I have loaded Ubuntu after loading Windows 7. Then on restarting the machine I got to choose between Ubuntu and Windows 7. After some days I also loaded Windows Vista on a third drive. Now I do not get the option to start Ubuntu at boot-up. The only choice I get is Windows7 and Windows Vista. How do I access Ubuntu??

there is a guide on omgubuntu called Sticking It To Grub. It shows how to reinstate Grub on the MBR. Your junky Vista installer has blindly overwritten it.

thanks for the link to Sticking to Grub. I had a deko and realised that I'm very weak in Ubuntu and Linux. Do you have a book you could recommend for someone who is thinking of shifting from windows to ubuntu and needs to get a grip of linux and Ubuntu?

Can you help with this problem?
