having difficulty installing bootloader on RAID

I have tried installing to the /dev/mapper location of the main volume with no luck, and a few other options. I can't seem to find a way to get this to work out. I'm pretty new to linux, and this is an old server we had lying around that I wanted to turn into a linux based Moodle server. The problem is that I cannot find a way to get it to install the boot loader. I have reset the RAID configuration, I have tried a few different partition configurations, and I have had no luck
