Chameleon Bootloader Ubuntu Help

Asked by Matt

i'd like to dual boot across multiple hard disks. the default linux bootloader for ubuntu 11.10 won't recognize my windows 8 install, only my ubuntu install and the windows repair partition of my windows 8 disk. i would like to install chameleon, but don't want to hackintosh my system. the only Chameleon bootloader install guides i can find are for hackintoshes. I would like to be able to see a bootloader (like chameleon which i use on my other machine that is a hackintosh) that will allow me to select between ubuntu and windows.

if needed, my system info is as follows:
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz × 4
Graphics: Intel® Sandybridge Desktop
64-bit Ubuntu 11.10

See the bug report...
This won't be fixed in version 11.10(Oneiric), unless you want to add it manually... It is fixed in the beta of 12.04(Precise)

By editing the grub configuration(https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2#Configuring_GRUB_2) Hopefully this is clear enough, and you can see the example entries in the file. You need to chainload to the Windows MBR. Unfortunately, I am not an expert with Windows, so I cannot help you too much there. Be sure to select the correct partition.
