boot issue

Asked by raju

I am using ubuntu 10.04.XX version.

when my boot screen shows "boot failed try passing init=bootargs".. somting like this.

I found a solution like try booting with live cd, open the terminal, the use command "fsck /dev/sda1".
but I prepared my live cd with ubuntu 10.10.XX version and followed all those steps.

Now when I am trying to boot from the hard disk it is unable to boot, showing the splash screen only.

If i press esc key it is showing that "/init: line 7: cant't open /dev/sr0: No medium found, unable to open '/dev/sda'".

I have some important data in it. how to take my data backup?

Why do you not have a backup already????

If you are booting the internal drive, take the CD out of the drive (sr0 is your optical drive)

Can you help with this problem?
