Upon restarting my laptop it show the xp logo and starting up, then screen goes blank and then screen shows "error:no such partition grub rescue>. how do i fix this? I cant use my laptop at all now. I don't speak the linux language so i'm lost. I just want to be able to use my laptop.

You need to boot to your XP CD and reinstate the NTLDR, You removed the config grub uses to boot when you wiped out ubuntu. Not an Ubuntu issue.

you need to boot off a recovery disk and fix the mbr. you can download one free from the microshaft support website. be prepared to click through numerous links before you find it. alternative you can google how to fix mbr and you might find a link to the recovery disk which might be faster

Can you help with this problem?
