My acer 5315 wont boot, cant even run bios after remove ubuntu 10.10

Asked by nizar

when i uninstall ubuntu via windows 7, it run succesfully but after that i delete the partition then try to merge two partition using windows 7 diskmanager.

After that I rebooted my computer, then ACER logo shown up in very very long time.

When i rebooted again and try to enter setup (bios), the bios didnt shown up. I think that was bios problem, but after my friend checked, he reported that the problem was in the hardisk because my HD is capable to read in his computer..

What should i do then?? (i ve tried to format, delete partition (after back up my data) but nothing could back my hardisk to normal)..im desperate...should i buy new one?

The BIOS doesn't need the hard disk to work.
I think you corrupted partition table and/or MBR on disk.
Could you:
1-boot on Ubuntu CD
2-choose "Try" instead of "Install"
3-open Firefox and current question
4-open a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T)
5-run command
   sudo fdisk -l # where "-l" is lower case "-L"
6-copy/paste results from terminal to Firefox (Shift+Ctrl+C -> Ctrl+V)

Some newer Acers have this issue-I installed 12.04 with a WUBI installer along side Windows.After reboot,I had a bootable BIOS on F12.Then I installed onto the whole HD,from thumb drive,using the F12

Can you help with this problem?
