How do I boot into Ubuntu 10.4.3 at start up?

Asked by Eugene Chilelli

Hello. I have Ubuntu 10.4.3 installed on my hard drive and I also installed Ubuntu 11.10 "beside" the previous installation.
When I boot up my computer, I do not see any option to chose 10.4.3, it just boots up to 11.10. I know that I need to use GRUB or LILO to set it up, but I do not know how to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

how did you install 10.04 and 11.10? when asked, did you have the program overwrite the existing operating system? or did you have it install alongside it?

anyhoo, go into terminal and type

sudo update-grub

enter your password when requested. it won't show on the screen.

when you reboot, you should get a dual boot menu where you can choose what to launch

Can you help with this problem?
