How to change default boot kernel row in grub2

Asked by Art Hochberg

Linux-image 3.0.0.13 has frozen mouse, linux-image-3.0.0.12 is ok, change menu?

Just installed 11.10 over earlier version in dual boot with windows XP.

Menu leads off with version 3.0.0.13 which boots but has a frozen mouse.

Have to reset to get the menu again. Click on Previous Versions.

Then click on version 3.0.0.12 and everything is OK.

How do I change the boot menu to put version 3.0.0.12 as the default?

System is Microtel Laptop with Pentium 4, 2.4 GHz, 1.12 GB memory.

You can change the default in /etc/default/grub

I suggest you switch it back if you get a new kernel and test, you should also report a bug
