How to add boot options?

How do I add boot options to Ubuntu Server 11?
Well, I want to make it so that it goes to CLI instead of the GUI I installed.
It goes the GUI by default but I only need it sometimes, so I want it to boot to the command line instead of the GUI.
How do I add boot options to it?

And someone told me I had to put "text" in the boot options but I don't know how to edit them, or what I would put(do I just put "text" or what?)
