Make grub leave Block Num on

Asked by Braiam Peguero

I have this issue since Karmic, but now it's the last since I've upgraded to Natty and the issue it still there. I have 2 disk configuration, and I can select at boot time the disk what I want to boot. When I boot directly to Windows the Block Num stays on, but when I use grub and then Ubuntu or Windows, grub shuts down the Block Num. This is by design, or there is a way to modify this behavior.

If this question is a wish, please change it to a bug and I will triage it.

Not absolutely sure, but Num Lock is managed in Ubuntu by X server, which means during and since graphical login screen. Before, the keyboard is in its default configuration.

@delance, actualy both, grub a gdm, set the Num lock off. As I said before, the num lock is on after the POST, if I interrupt and boot directly into windows, the num lock stays on. But if use the grub to start windows or ubuntu the num lock is shutdown. In the gdm is another history.
