Karmic is no longer supported in any way. I sugest you instal Lucid as there are no updates for Karmic, nor is it supported here or in any other Ubuntu support channel

Thanks

If upgrading your Ubuntu 9.10 system to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid (you can do this in the Update Manager) doesn't fix the problem, then you can open a Terminal window (in the Ubuntu 10.04 system) and run:

sudo update-grub

If that doesn't fix the problem, then I recommend you post a new question (so it's clear that the problem you're experiencing isn't just due to your using an old, unsupported release of Ubuntu). On the other hand, if you have trouble upgrading to Ubuntu 10.04, please post a reply in this question thread.

sudo apt-get install os-prober
sudo os-prober
sudo update-grub
should work.

Can you help with this problem?
