Cannot view GRUB programme at startup.

Asked by rkcarney

When I switch on my computer, after 'post' and that flash for my motherboard, my screen throws up a message out of range size 470x800, and an otherwise blank screen. If I leave it for 12 - 15 secs it switches into natty distro. When shutting down at the very last it again shows the same message but with the range 1200x1028, which is the size that my screen likes. All I can think is that I've got a corrupted GRUB programme.
Help please,
rk.

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply, but it has worked a dream ( I'm a novice and had to go to the community literature to find out how to do it, and then find the courage to carry it out. But I did (despite many years indoctrination by Windows) and am now well chuffed with myself.)
Thank you very much indeed,
rk
