How to clean up GRUB opening screen

I have Ubuntu 10 and Windows 7 installed. When I get the GRUB screen it has a long list of Ubuntu updates with the latest on top and Win7 at the bottom. The list has now gotten so long that Win7 is now on page 2 of that list. How can clean up that screen so it shows just the latest Ubuntu update, the memory test and Win7?

Or simpy use ubuntu tweak software to remove old kernel, apt cache, ...etc. Please have a look at the following page:

thanks for nice link (howto), which will save me lots of 'do this.., do that..' lines in the future.
