i installed ubuntu10.10 alongside my windows xp, but after installation when it restarts it is starting in xp, what shall i do?

i installed ubuntu10.10 alongside my windows xp ,ie in separate drive, but after installation when it restarts it is starting in xp, what shall i do?
i have provided swap area while installation and after installation it was asked to eject the cd and restart, i did this and it restarted automatically

You probably need to go into your computer's BIOS settings and change the boot order so your external disk is before your internal hard disk. When your PC starts up, you might get a quick notice of which key to press to go to setup -- this is where you change your BIOS settings.
