Vista not found in grub

Asked by B L

Hi, I just installed Netbook 10.10 alongside Windows Vista. Vista doesn't show up in GRUB.

Here's a little bit of info (I'm very new to Linux, please bear with me)

Disk /dev/sda: 120.0 GB, 120034123776 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 14593 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00000080

   Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 1 5 40131 de Dell Utility
/dev/sda2 6 1280 10240000 7 HPFS/NTFS
Partition 2 does not end on cylinder boundary.
/dev/sda3 * 1280 10625 75061242+ 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/sda4 10625 14594 31877121 f W95 Ext'd (LBA)
/dev/sda5 14268 14594 2619392 dd Unknown
/dev/sda6 10625 14111 28004352 83 Linux
/dev/sda7 14112 14268 1252352 82 Linux swap / Solaris

Partition table entries are not in disk order

Disk /dev/sdb: 4007 MB, 4007657472 bytes
5 heads, 32 sectors/track, 48921 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 160 * 512 = 81920 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00000000

   Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdb1 * 51 48922 3909696 c W95 FAT32 (LBA)

Any help would be appreciated. I think that Vista is on partition 2.

Try running
sudo update-grub
To rescan the OSes present. Vista should be found.
