grub doesn't display on computer startup

Asked by Ryan Davis

I just installed Ubuntu 10.04 on a partition on my windows 7 pc. When I start the computer no option to load ubuntu comes up, it just goes straight to windows. If i boot onto my flash drive I can get into ubuntu and I can see the partition on there but I just can't get it so i can select between the ubuntu partition and windows. I was wondering if there is a way to fix this so the grub displays when I start the computer.

boot up with your flash drive. you have a option to fix your installation. i believe it's the last option. go into that and copy the grub to your hard drive.

once you get ubuntu loaded, you may need to go into terminal by pressing CTL+ALT+T then type

sudo update-grub
